# Understand specialised agents

> Understand how saved agents differ from Chat, how triggers and schedules start runs, and where to inspect or stop their work.

A specialised agent is a saved workflow that can run when its event trigger fires or on a schedule. Its setup defines what it should do and which tools it may use.

**1. Choose a starting point**

Open Agents to browse existing agents, the Agent library, or Create your own. Library agents can be adapted with Make it yours.

**2. Review the setup**

Check Instructions, Triggers, Tools, and Permissions on the agent detail page before it runs.

**3. Watch its work**

Open run history and activity to see finished runs or items that need your input. Pause or archive an agent when it should stop running.

> [!NOTE]
>
> You can also describe a new agent in the main Chat. The main agent helps draft it, while the specialised agent remains a separate saved item to review.

## How saved agents differ

A specialised agent has its own instructions and access settings. Its trigger or schedule starts new runs, while run history records what happened. You can pause an agent without removing its setup, or archive it to stop it and free its triggers for another agent.
