# Give agents only the access they need

> Review a saved agent’s job, trigger, data access, and provider tools together so repeatable work stays within intended permissions.

A specialised agent can run again when an event occurs or a schedule starts. Before activation, check what work it should perform and which records or connected tools it can reach.

**1. Read the instructions**

Confirm the agent's job, intended recipients or destinations, and what should happen when information is missing. A library agent is a starting point, so inspect it after using Make it yours.

**2. Match access to the job**

Review None, Read, and Read & write permissions. Check company Agent settings and each integration's Tool permissions, especially for messages, record changes, and deletion.

**3. Check when it runs**

Inspect the event trigger or schedule. Only one agent can run on each trigger; archiving frees its triggers for another agent. After the first run, read the run history and verify the affected record.

## When work pauses

A run can need an answer or a permission before it starts. Open its activity and respond to the specific request; do not assume an incomplete run finished the external task.
