# Find your way around Worklayer

> Use the Workspace and Chat switch, sidebar, and Settings to find records, requests, agents, and controls allowed by your role.

Worklayer separates the **Workspace** screens from **Chat** with the main agent. Use the switch in the sidebar to choose how you want to work, then open the relevant area.

## Workspace for records and requests

**Workspace** shows the product areas available to your role. **People** holds employee records and the **Org chart**. **Time off**, **Attendance**, and **Expenses** are for daily submissions and status checks. **Payroll**, **Documents**, and **Agents** appear when your access allows them. **Tasks** has separate Tasks and Requests views: one for assigned work and one for approvals.

## Chat for a conversation

Switch to **Chat** when you want to ask the main agent a question or work through a supported action. The agent can ask for missing details or show a proposal to review. To set up a job that runs again on an event or schedule, use a [specialised agent](https://help.worklayer.ai/help/agents/specialised-agents/overview.md) instead.

## Settings for configuration

Open **Settings** in the sidebar. **Preferences** and **Connected accounts** are personal. **Org structure**, policies, **Integrations**, and company agent settings are for administrators and other authorised roles. Use **Back to app** to return to Workspace.

> Navigation is permission aware. If a page or profile tab is missing, check [access troubleshooting](https://help.worklayer.ai/help/troubleshooting/access.md) before assuming the feature is unavailable.
