# Connect Airtable

> Connect approved Airtable bases and review the read, write, delete, and comment tools before giving agents access to records.

Airtable lets approved agents work with records in the bases granted to Worklayer. Treat record deletion separately from ordinary lookup or editing when deciding which tools to allow.

## Grant base access

An administrator opens **Settings > Integrations > Available > Airtable** and connects the intended Airtable workspace or bases. Review the bases granted during the provider flow. In **Tool permissions**, read tools include listing bases, reading a base schema, and listing records. Write tools include creating, updating, and deleting records, plus commenting on a record.

## Scope an agent

Check the agent's **Instructions** for the intended base, record, and operation. Give it only the Airtable tools its job requires. An agent that looks up a roster needs different access from one that edits a tracker. After a run, inspect the changed record or comment in Airtable.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Delete record** is a separate write tool. Block it unless the agent's job requires deletion and the intended base is clear.

If the agent cannot find a base, check the provider grant first. If it reads but cannot update records, review both the provider write permission and the agent's own permissions.
