# Connect Linear

> Connect a Linear workspace and choose whether agents may search issues, create them, or comment through the Worklayer app.

Linear gives approved agents issue-tracking tools in a connected workspace. Issues and comments created through the connection use a Worklayer app identity rather than a teammate's personal identity.

## Connect the workspace

An administrator opens **Settings > Integrations > Available > Linear** and authorises the intended Linear workspace. In **Tool permissions**, review read tools for searching and opening issues, listing teams, and listing users. Decide separately whether agents may **Create issue** or **Create comment**. These write tools should match an agent's actual job.

## Check a saved agent

Read its **Instructions** for the target team, issue content, and circumstances that should create work. Grant the Linear tools it needs in the agent's **Tools** and **Permissions**. After a run, open the Linear issue or comment to confirm the result. You can also mention the Worklayer app on an issue for an in-context response.

If issue creation fails, check that Linear is **Active**, its create tool is allowed, and the agent has write access. Searching issues can work while creation is blocked, so test the specific action that failed.
