# Understand missing pages and actions

> Check role and record permissions when a Worklayer page, profile tab, or action is missing from your view.

Worklayer shows pages and actions according to your role and relationship to a record. A missing control can mean the page is restricted rather than the workflow being unavailable to the whole company.

## Check the view and record

Confirm that you are in **Workspace** if you need a record, or **Chat** if you are working with the main agent. On an employee profile, a colleague generally sees **Overview** and **Details**. **Documents**, **Salary**, **Time Off**, **Attendance**, **Expenses**, and **Forms** require access as the person, their manager, or an administrator. A direct link to a restricted tab may show a no-access page.

## Check the action

Company settings such as **Org structure**, payroll, integrations, and agent permissions require suitable access. A reviewer sees **Approve** or **Reject** only for requests they can decide. If a form request says you lack permission, ask the sender to check the assignment rather than using another person's account.

## Ask the right person

Tell a manager or administrator which page, person, and action you expected, along with the no-access message if one appeared. They can check the role or assignment without exposing unrelated employee data. For a personal Google or Microsoft grant, use **Settings > Connected accounts** yourself; for company provider access, ask the administrator of **Settings > Integrations**.
