The main agent is in Chat, alongside the Workspace view. Use it for a question or an action you want to work through now. A saved specialised agent is better when the same job should start again on a trigger or schedule.

Start with the outcome

Switch from Workspace to Chat in the sidebar. State the person, date range, record, or destination that matters. For example, ask the agent to help review a time off request for a named employee, or to draft an agent for repeated expense follow-up. A precise first message gives it enough context to identify the right record; if it asks which person or period you mean, answer before proceeding. The composer can include attachments. Add relevant material if the conversation offers that option, then make sure the agent is using the intended file and not a similar earlier one.

Work through proposed actions

The main agent may answer directly, ask a follow-up question, propose a change, or ask for a connected account. Read the details it shows: employee, amount, dates, recipient, and destination all matter. If an action is wrong or incomplete, ask it to revise the proposal. Some actions require your confirmation before continuing; confirmation screens vary by action. After an action completes, inspect the affected record in Workspace or the connected service. A conversation reply alone is not a substitute for checking a payroll run, request, task, or external message.

Turn repeatable work into an agent

If you want the same job to run later, describe when it should start and ask the main agent to help create a specialised agent. Review the saved agent’s Instructions, Triggers, Tools, and Permissions before it runs.
