Worklayer asks for company details before opening the workspace. An administrator can then use Getting started as a checklist for the structure, policies, people, and tools that daily workflows depend on.

Enter company details

In Set up your company, add the company name, address, timezone, and logo. Check the timezone carefully: dates and scheduled work are interpreted in a company context. Finish the wizard to reach the workspace and its setup checklist.

Build the structure before importing people

  1. In Getting started, choose Add departments and teams. Create the groups that employees will belong to.
  2. Choose Set up time off policies. Review the types and policy options employees should be able to request.
  3. Choose Import your employees. Upload a spreadsheet or an export from your current HR system. Include each person’s manager where possible so reporting lines and approval routing can be checked during import.
Review imported names, emails, managers, and other mapped details before confirming. The import flow has separate Trigger agents and Send invitations choices; select them deliberately instead of assuming either happens by default. For one person, use Add employee in People.

Connect tools and try an agent

The checklist also links Connect your tools and Build your first agent. Company integrations are managed in Settings > Integrations. Connect only the workspace you intend to use, then check Tool permissions before giving a saved agent access. When you create an agent, read its instructions, trigger, and permissions before saving it.
Company setup, policies, integrations, and agent access require suitable administrator permissions. If a checklist step opens a page you cannot edit, ask a workspace administrator to complete it.
