Company time off policies define which absence types employees can request and how balances and evidence are handled. Administrators configure them in Settings > Time off and assign them to people.

Configure a policy

Open Settings > Time off and review existing policies before adding or editing one. Check the options offered by the policy editor, including request duration and certificate requirements where applicable. Save the policy and inspect the result. Those settings determine what the request drawer can show, so use a realistic employee assignment when checking the outcome.

Assign it to people

When adding a person, choose the relevant policies in Contract & policies. For an existing person, open their profile and use the time off assignment controls available to your role. Check the employee’s Time Off view and request types afterward. If an employee cannot select an expected absence type, verify that the policy was assigned rather than changing an unrelated company setting.

Review effects before changing a policy

A policy can affect available full or half days, required evidence, and how requests are approved. A reviewer should check the policy that applies to the employee before treating a missing certificate or an automatic approval as an error. For balance questions, compare the employee’s policy assignment with the balance preview on the request.
